The Carrollton Police Officers Association is accepting applications for the inaugural Steve Nothem Memorial Scholarship, which will be a one time $5,000.00 scholarship. Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the scholarship:
- Reside within the city of Carrollton for the majority of the 2023-2024 school year.
- The applicant is a graduating High School Senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale OR 80 points or better on a 100 point scale AND has been accepted into or intends to attend a recognized University, Junior College or Community College upon graduation.
- Applicants shall submit a copy of a college acceptance letter or course schedule and their high school transcript.
- Provide 2-3 reference letters, preference would be at least one of those references be in law enforcement.
- Two-to-three-page essay on the applicant’s work within their community and post high school goals. This essay should describe how they have show interest in a law enforcement career and what steps they’ve taken to develop those interests.
